About empowered poor
PARTNERSHIP
- Empowered Poor works through its primary indigenous partner, Changing Lives Microfinance Foundation (CLMF) registered with the Government of India to provide microloans to the poor and marginalized. Empowered Poor has also forged a strategic partnership with Reaching Indians Ministries International (RIMI) in the U.S. and Mission India in Nagpur, India to empower its constituents through micro-lending in order to help them rise above poverty.
MICRO-LENDING
- This program provides the opportunity to start and implement family owned businesses. As clients repay their loan the funds are recycled into new loans, thus multiplying the number of at risk people who can begin their journey from poverty to purpose. We act as a liaison between the poor and the donors in a shared partnership. Supervision is provided by Empowered Poor staff both in the U.S. and in India.
FUNDING
- Funding for Empowered Poor come solely from the private sector made up of individuals, corporations, and foundations. All programs are administered by the board of directors of Empowered Poor along with our partner organizations: Changing Lives Microfinance Foundation, RIMI, and Mission India.
- Distribution of funds is monitored by the staff of Empowered Poor and its partners.
