Anar is a mother if six children who attend different schools. Her husband does not make enough money to survive and meet basic needs of the family. While they were praying for additional work to increase their income, they heard about a seminar conducted by an Empowered Poor staff member about micro-financing to start small income generating businesses. Anar applied and was granted a loan to start a goat rearing business. She purchased a good breed of a female goat. After a few weeks she gave birth to two goats that gave birth to another four within a year. Her goat business continues to multiply as more kids are born to her female goats. To supplement their income she sells one of her full grown goats at a good profit rather than borrowing from money lenders who charge exorbitant interest rates. She wants to buy a cow now from the sale of some of her goats to further increase her income. Her family members help in taking care of these goats. They are extremely grateful to Empowered Poor to come to their aid at a crucial time. Now, they are able to live a dignified life, provide for their family needs, and educate their children.
