Roma and her family lives in Odisha State of India. Her youngest boy is mentally challenged and her husband is a daily wage laborer. Roma, though uneducated, is willing to do almost any work. She finished a course in tailoring and wanted to start a small tailoring business in order to earn some money to pay for her son’s treatment and supplement their family’s meager income. When she heard about Empowered Poor, she applied for a micro-loan to begin her tailoring business. With the loan she was able to purchase a sewing machine and worked hard to build a nice business. She enjoys working with her hands and makes a good living to provide for her family. She is grateful to God for EP’s help.
